About me
My name is Stuart Browne, no, honestly, it is. The clue is in the domain name of the website you are currently visiting.
I was born in the East End of London in nineteen hundred and sixty, which means at the time of typing, I am at the grand old age of 65! I plan to be immortal and live forever, and so far, it’s working.
I got into computers in the mid-eighties when the garage I was working at in the parts department (Later became Parts manager) became computerised. By the way, it was a Honda car Dealership. I wanted to know more, so I went to evening class at our local college to complete an A-level in computer studies. I learnt a little of BASIC (Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) and wrote a small program for the forecourt to manage the fuel stock control.
I later left and became a Milkman (More money (Double in fact)), Yawn and Blah! Blah! Anyway, I managed to earn an HNC BTEC in computer studies and then completed a City & Guilds in Computer networking. I believe I am one of the last people to gain this certification, as this course no longer exists! This is probably due to the up-and-coming Operating systems that could do all the work themselves.
I then started a part-time business fixing computers in customers' homes. At this time, I became interested in creating websites and went on online courses, again, to learn more!
I created websites for a few companies and then got bored, so I created a site where clients could build their own. If you want to visit that site click on www.PtarmiganWebsites.com and have a go at building one yourself.
